Craniosacral Therapy

Expand

A deeply restorative modality that enhances your body’s innate ability to heal.

I listen and test for disruptions in the flow of your craniosacral rhythm via gentle contact with your body. I apply gentle manipulations to the affected bones, membranes, and muscles, creating change on physical and often emotional levels.

Intra-oral techniques can be especially effective for TMJD, migraines, and eustacian tube drainage, to name a few. Clients remain clothed for the session.

Craniosacral Therapy

Manual Lympatic Drainage

Expand

Manual Lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues and reduces swelling in the body. The rhythmic strokes have a relaxing and analgesic effect and offer a boost to the immune system.
This technique reduces swelling (edema) throughout your body, improves healing outcomes after surgery, and relieves pain.

Myofascial Release

Expand

This technique explores restrictions in your body’s fascial net, working to relieve pain and release maladaptive postural patterning like “tech neck” without triggering a guarding response in your system. This allows for work that addresses structures deep in your body without the pain sometimes associated with traditional “deep tissue” massage.
Many clients find this profoundly relaxing and meditative. For treatment-based work on a single area affected by chronic pain or injury, 60-90 mins is usually sufficient. For a full-body session, 90 minutes is strongly recommended.

Visceral Manipulation

Expand

This elegant and intuitive method derived from osteopathic principles is a gentle manual therapy that aids your body's ability to release long-held restrictions and unhealthy compensations from prior traumatic injury, surgery, or posture that cause lasting pain and dysfunction.
By communicating with your body to find the most efficient and beneficial areas to treat, this modality aims to uncover the source of the problem, which often isn’t where symptoms are felt.
Clients wear loose clothing, i.e. pajamas or gym attire, and actively participate in the 60-90 min session.

Note: Rate for a self-referred/self-pay 60-minute session reflects a $40 discount for payments made in full at the time of service, compared to sessions billed to insurance for injury claims.

F.A.Q.

  • While I am not in network with any insurance providers, I do offer a superbill as a courtesy which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. I cannot guarantee they will reimburse you for the full amount, or at all.

Services provided where a superbill is requested require a prescription from your medical provider prior to the session. The session will address only the areas prescribed.

I also accept first party PIP claims and LNI. See additional details below.

  • Yes. I do accept first-party PIP and worker’s compensation (LNI) claims.

These sessions are limited to an hour in length. A prescription is required from your medical provider and the claim must be verified prior to beginning our work together. Sessions will be tailored around the areas indicated on the prescription.

Because I offer a payment at time of service discount, sessions where no payment is taken at the time of the appointment and a third party is billed on your behalf are $160 for 60 minutes.

If the funds from insurance have been exhausted, you will be liable for payment for the services received.

  • You don’t have to take your clothes off to have a good time.

Craniosacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation sessions are held with clients fully clothed for the duration.

For your comfort and ease of movement, I recommend loose comfortable clothing, like what you might wear to the gym. Joggers or pajama pants are better than tight yoga pants with a thick waistband for accessing the abdomen.

Please do plan to undress for full sessions of MLD, particularly if your swelling is acute (lymphedema, post surgery).

Myofascial work can be performed either clothed or unclothed, your preference.

  • The short answer is yes, however…

Myofascial and Craniosacral methods are often slow going. This can be amplified if this is our first time meeting, or if you’ve never received this kind of work before.

Depending on the reasons for combining modalities and the techniques requested, I may request that you book a longer session, 90 or 120 mins, to ensure you receive the maximum benefit.

Feel free to contact me to discuss your needs and find out what duration is best for you.

  • When you turn off of Airport Way S, onto Horton, the Urban Worklofts building is on your left.

Pull into either of the first two driveways. You may see a sign that says Permit Parking Only. There are 2-hour guest parking spots available. These are marked with “Guest Parking” signs on both levels of the garage.

Please contact me if you need assistance.

  • After parking in a guest spot in the garage, follow the orange and black signs for The Urban Worklofts. They will direct you to the gray entry door where you'll find the keypad to get buzzed in.

Follow the instructions in your confirmation email for entry code.

Please text me if you're having any trouble. I'm looking forward to seeing you.
